Licensing Requirements:

Installation of electrical, communication, and linework systems must be supervised by a licensed electrical administrator. To be eligible for an electrical administrator license, an applicant must verify qualifying work experience and pass an exam. To renew a license, an electrical administrator must complete one approved 8-hour continuing education course covering the National Electrical Code and/or one approved 8-hour continuing education course covering the National Electrical safety Code.

There are six categories of electrical administrator: 1) controls and control wiring, 2) inside communications, 3) residential wiring, 4) outside communications, 5) unlimited commercial wiring, and 6) unlimited linework.
