This is a beautiful day use picnic area on a
point near the water. There are usable picnic tables and raised
fire pits under a covered picnic area. The tables are 27” high with
11” overhangs. A firm, dirt trail leads down to the day use area,
where a muddy trail leads north to day use areas, but a bridge leads
to the southern side.
The Sitka District Office of Alaska State Parks is also located
here.
The bridge leads over a creek and has a good ramp down the other
side, where a firm dirt trail leads out to a nice covered picnic
area with usable tables and raised fire grill. It is 280’ from the
bridge to covered picnic area, and has 8% grades for short distances.
The views from here are spectacular. |
