Comments
This is an excellent day use picnic area, fully accessible, on the banks of Eagle River where it flows into the ocean. There are excellent views of the ocean and mountains. The specifications are the same for the front and back toilet facilities. There is a 70” paved path around area, with a 2.5” gap on one end of the bridge. This path is 2900” long.
There is a paved designated parking spot at trailhead near Eagle River. There is a 13% slope down to the trail. The trail from here leading towards Eagle Glacier quickly degrades to rooty and slender, but the trail towards the beach area from here is wide, firm, and paved under the bridge, and is quite flat.
Old day use area has raised fire pits but no accessible picnic tables, nor routes. The toilet here has the following specifications: Door 33”, Width 84”, Depth 72”, Height 15”, clearance to back 18”, clearance to side 18”, grab bars on side and back are 34”. These are octagonal shaped and have a 3.8” slope inside them.
